I have had the pleasure of teaching for 11 years; this current year marks 12. I taught 8 years at Rothschild Leadership Academy and the last 3 (this year makes 4) at Midland. During my time as a teacher, I have been able to receive my master’s degree, specialist degree, and I am currently working on receiving the Teacher Support Coach certification. While at Midland I have been (some past and some current) grade level chair, science department chair, on the leadership team, over the Science Olympiad, and Jr. Marshal Program. I have been fortunate to be an active member at my church which has afforded me opportunities to provide community service. I work with the youth department, served meals to families at Open Door Community House, and assisted with various drives (food and clothing).

 

I have been married to my loving and wonderful husband for 10 years. Through our union, we have been blessed with two girls: Madison and Emory. My family brings so much joy to my life and I’m thankful to God (who is the head of my life) for them, my parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, etc. 😊

My why: I have a passion for children (especially middle school) and I wanted to be like some of my favorite teachers in the classroom. I have always felt God telling me I needed to teach (I was not in education when I first went to college) because of my personality and my ways. Now that I have children, I ensure that I am for my learners what I want my children to have.
